Full of buoyant humor and charming tunes, The Fantasticks tells the story of a boy and a girl who fall madly in love, and the two meddlesome fathers who try to keep them apart. This production promises a lush new approach to this beloved classic.

Audience Note: This show contains sword fighting, a highly stylized comedic abduction and rescue of a young woman, and a sequence in which a character’s torture is portrayed in shadow.  The script for The Fantasticks has been changed by its creators many times over the years, and the version we’ll be producing at Village does not contain some of the highly objectionable material (including racially charged stereotypes and references to rape) that past productions and recordings have contained.
